The Lightning Theif and Ranger's Apprentice are coming to Theatres near you in 2010. Lightning Theif comes out in February, and Ranger's Apprentice comes out at an unannounced date. Thoughts?

I don't really read books less than 20 years old, but I guess they have potential to be good.

Not really my kind of books but depending on how the movies look I might read up on them to compare.

Lightning thief and series kicked butt, favorite series EVER!!!! I just wish he would write another book. Thats a real cliff hanger with that prophecy at the end of book 5. Can't wait to see the movie, I swear though, if they mess it up I will personally go to hollywood and give them a mean talking too.

Rick Riordin is currently writing a second series. There are plenty of hints about it in the last book.

I didn't get the feeling he was hinting that he was writing another series... I wonder what it's about..

This.

And there weren't hints he was making series 2, there were hints there was more to come.

And it's still PJatO, iirc.

More to come? He pretty much unlocked the biggest terrors of Olympus in his first series, in Typhon and Kronos. If he does it again it'll be somewhat unoriginal.

No it's a second series. Read the Acknowledgements or whatever at the end of the last book. "As the first Camp-Half-Blood Series comes to a close..."

o.o Oh. Interesting. I'm wondering what he'd try to come up with. Roman gods trying to overthrow the Olympians? :P
