Well, there are some situations where the person you talk to is far away from you, or you can't see them in real life. However, the friends I usually talk to are the ones I talk to all the time in real life as well.
It never occurred with their generation. Their relationships are primarily e-relationships built on a foundation of deceit because let's face it. On the internet you can be anyone you want to be.

That only goes for lame people who create a fake personality. I keep it real. Like me or not, I am me, and that isn't changing. I personally believe anyone who creates a whole new personality fails at life. I also, as mentioned in the reply to Acrytex, talk in real life all the time as well.
