Attach team boost to your starter and then battle a trainer that is on a diffrent team and has a higher rank than you

As a team magma major, you will get 9000 teampoints with teamboost attached against a team aqua colonel.

Ahh so only against team aqua I’m able to get 9k? Let’s say it’s team rocket it won’t be 9k?

all you have to do is battle against a member of any opposing faction who is a higher rank than you are with team boost attached to your starter.
