Nicknaming Pokemon

Ok, I'll try to keep this short.

Who thinks it would be a good idea to nickname your Pokes?

All Pokemon are stored in alphabetical order, it's hard to tell duplicates apart.
When giving duplicate Pokemon items, it can be a hassle because they all look the same (this is for legend and battle tower challengers) and have the same level.

Plus, it's a cool way to show creativity through your Pokes.

The only problem with this would be inappropriateness.
My response: It's the exact same as a username; just for Pokemon.

Don't they check for appropriateness is that area.

Pls let me know if this is a good/bad idea or if it's already been suggested.

Yes, this has been suggested before.
I would had said it as a good idea but will you do when people uses inappropriate names. Mods will have to keep track to that.
So because of some peoples i would say its a bad idea.

People who has inappropriate usernames are banned when caught. So nobody can evade.
You can't be a mod.
See why this idea doesn't works:
There are many people who has more than 1000 pokemon. People can change their pokemon's at anytime so mod would have to check every hour. And this will create a major problem during trade.
Suppose you have a charmander lvl 1000 and you change its name to say mike. Then how can people know that you really have charmander. There's another problem i.e, people can change their pokemons name to lets say charmander to goldencharmander and they can create false trade by lying them and you can't see pokemon's image while creating trade.

If nicknames could only be seen by the person who owns them, and erased when traded, I see no problem with it.

I give you a point 10/1000, no need to temporarily place the original names because this is a game the pokes are not pets!

Will take longer to update maintenance. Not cool. Plus, not really needed as each poke has a number.
Besides, who will go through 500 Charmanders to find the one they like? :P
