I can't hold more than 500 pokemon

When I try to catch map pokemon it says

ERROR: The Pokémon you caught could not be added to your box. You already have too many Pokémon.

Can someone tell my why this is

You're only allowed to have that many pokemon. Make a storage account.

It's not an error at all. That's how many you are allowed in 1 account.

your allowed to have more than 500 pokemon in 1 account.
but once you hit 500 you can't catch, buy or breed anymore.
but you can still trade them.
so make a storage and put them in it.
