We'll start off with the basics of training gyms.
Q: What are training gyms?
A: They are gyms especially designed for gaining exp. No, they aren't in the Pokemon Battles selection, but they are actually users who make their team with all Blisseys or Chanseys.
Q: How are they useful to me?
A: This way of fighting training gyms is used to gain very quick exp, maybe a thousand levels a day if you keep at it. Note that the higher level your Pokemon grows, the harder it is to train.
Q: What if the training gym doesn't have Blisseys/Chanseys?
A: Well, an official training gym team would consist of 6 Blisseys/Chanseys, but I don't know about the others.
Popular Training Gyms
The Trainer ID's listed are the 3 most popular training gyms. Do note that people with Pokemon less than level 2000 will find it quite hard (sometimes).
1. (Levels 3000+) #5316 - Outlander
Darkheart, the Super-Moderator known to give transfers and recover accounts owns this account. The team consists of a ShinyBlissey and 5 DarkBlisseys all around level 3,500. Note: This used to be the regular Scoundrel. Lesson learned, young ones. For people with levels under 3,000, I suggest you use a Slaking now! With NightShade as the main attack for the second, it could wipe any Pokemon out within two hits.
2. (Levels 1800~3000) #981310 - GoodDaddy
Although this training gym may be harder than BR Gym, it also gives more EXP. The team consists of 6 level 2560 - 2760 DarkBlisseys.
3. (Levels 1800-) #2169286 - BR Gym
Thanks to the user TSM Bartezz, this gym has bumped down Rune Ristar's Gym! The team consists of level 2,500 ShinyBlissey, but is only slightly higher leveled than Rune Ristar (This is why Rune Ristar was bumped down)
Retired Gyms
#2719620 - BloodFeastIslandMan
Currently under the power of f00sh, the best player known to TPPC. Currently, the account says "Charmanders give better EXP anyways." Well I guess that people took advantage of BFIM of being the strongest Training Gym in the history of TPPC, so f00sh took it off.
#31328 - Scoundrel
Darkheart, the Super-Moderator known to give transfers and recover accounts owns this account. The team consists of a ShinyBlissey and 5 DarkBlisseys all around level 3,500.
#2483139 - Jedah (Makai Gym)
Jedah, the guy who made the gym when Scoundrel wasn't around, had a quite extraordinary gym. His team, consisting of one DarkBlissey around level 4,900 pleased most people. The other side of it is that the rest of his team only consisted of 4 level 2,500s and 1 level 2,750. Even though there was a little flaw, everyone still appreciated it.
"Taken off the list Gyms"
Here is a list of gyms that were bumped down. If one gym happens to be better than the one listed, then it will be bumped down to this list.
#482301 - Rune Ristars Gym
This training gym was designed a long time ago, owned by Rune Ristar. The team consists of 6 level 2,500 ShinyBlisseys. This gym is a great gym to level up, even with level 5 Pokemon.
Ways to train
Now you know what gyms there are. Now it is time for the move set and Pokemon.
Pokemon Used
These Pokemon are meant to be affordable for most players, so nothing golden will be listed.
- Shiny/Dark Slaking. Using this at level 2,600+ won't even need any healing moves. (Sometimes) I suggest to use a Slaking if you just want quick EXP. Please do note that you will have an ugly beast in your roster :)
- Shiny/Dark Machamp. Using this will need you Recover. Even though it may be one of the strongest Pokemon with high attack power, the defenses are lower.
- Shiny/Dark Breloom. Using this is a great choice. This Pokemon is great with DoubleKick's.
New: This Pokemon is being tested by me. Even without Scope Lens, this Pokemon using DoubleKick will receive more critical hits than other Pokemon.
- Shiny/Dark Heracross. Using this is also a great choice as this has high attack and along with a high speed.
- Shiny/Dark Gallade. Using this is like a Heracross, high attack and a high speed also!
- Dark/Normal Rampardos. Using this is an OK choice, but since this is not recommended as the Pokemon costs a lot, especially Dark Cranidos/Rampardos.
- Shiny/Dark Rhyperior. Using these are somewhat alright, but is barely recommended. However, recommended for Rhyperior-loving users.
- Ho-Oh. Using these will give you pure attack. Please do not that these may cost quite a bit for a high leveled one.
Move Set
Here are the moves used to fight the Blisseys/Chanseys.
Move Slot 1: Double Kick
This will be your main attack, no other damage-dealing attacks will be used.
Move Slot 2: Toxic
This move is meant to be used if your Pokemon is having difficulty fighting the Blisseys.
Move Slot 3: Recover
This move may or may not be used from time to time. The move will be used for Scoundrel at some point.
Move Slot 4: Fly
To avoid Rune Ristars Gym's Flamethrower on the 4th attack of it's Blisseys, it is wise to use Fly during the 3rd turn. Although if your Pokemon has high HP, such as Slaking, then Fly may not be necessary. This move could also be replaced with Dig.
A popular way to train is by using Toxic, Double Kick, Double Kick, and onwards. But a good way to OHKO or 2 hit the Blissey/Chansey is by using a Scope Lens attached to a Pokemon level 2600+. Power Boost is known to be weaker than Scope Lens however, so I would suggest you stick with the Scope Lens.
Hope you liked this strategy for training gyms!
