Pick a different render. If the background is black and some black from the render is connected to the black in the background it'll think that part of the render is part of the background.

Link me the render

Isn't a render an image that already had the background removed?

Or, make your own render by going all the way around your desired render with the pen tool, make a selection, and cut it out.

click on the background around the image with the magic eraser, does the same thing, less steps.

Technically it isn't a render if it has a background with it. It's a stock.

there's no transparency when just copy-pasting images for the internet >_>

You're supposed to save the render because when copying and pasting something with a transparent background, it will be black.

As Ssgoku said, just Right Click the image, save image as or save image, then open in photoshop. There should be no background.

Then that's your fault. Don't copy and paste. Plus, I don't think JPEGs support transparency. That might not be right though.

Menu bar > Image > Image Size

Or, Ctrl+T, and drag it to the size you want. But make sure not to distort the image or else it will look ugly.
