my first question is what do people mean by i rate such and such 1x,2x and so forth?
and my second question is if i rate for example my scizor (?) 1.3k fairly high because of the long hard work it took to get it that level am i being a 'noob'??

The (a)x system basically means the rate of a Pokemon in accordance to the trading level cap on TPPC which is level 2499. So, whenever someone says his/her Pokemon worth 1x, 2x, 3x and so on, it means that they rate their Pokemon as worth a level 2499, 2 level 2499 and 3 level 2499, respectively.

And since there is no set rating on TPPC, though ironically there are still rating sites in existence, you can very much rate your Pokemon as much as whatever you want, however; rate it too high - people will be deterred, rate it too low - you're ripping yourself off, so, rate it moderately and what you think is fair and worth it. ::wink:
