Not that I give a damn what you listen to, I'm just (playfully) being a jerk. When I see lists like that, the thought that goes through my head is: 'that person only to watered down, mediocre, (semi) mainstream bands'

There's some slightly cool, prog(ish)/math stuff there, though.

What's wrong with Job for a Cowboy?

Unoriginal, watered-down, myspace death metal with plasticized production values. They get far too much praise when there are literally hundreds of bands in the genre with triple the talent they have. Also, I wonder why they dropped the pig squeals that their EP popularized. I'd call it innovative, but bands like Wormed did it long before them... regardless, I quite like the sound. They probably should have stuck with them.

Their cover art is wicked sweet, though.

See, I don't think bands should necessarily be judged by the amount of talent they have. Personally I like Job for a Cowboy because they undeniably have their own individual sound. As for them dropping the pig squeals, I think it was just them maturing as musicians. Pig squeals are a big trend at the moment in deathcore, if you couldn't tell. See, their first EP, DOOM, was a deathcore album. After that, they dropped the "core" and became purely death metal. Personally, I prefer new JFAC to old JFAC. I still enjoy DOOM, but I think their album Ruination sounds much better musically.

I already knew all that. To be fair, I haven't listened to Ruination, so I will give it a listen shortly, for your sake.

I haven't heard *any* deathcore I liked, unless you count Terminally Your Aborted Ghost... oh, and one of Despised Icon's albums seemed semi-decent.

Ruination is excellent imo.
I don't listen to a lot of deathcore either, only really Whitechapel.

Behemoth are not thrash metal, nor do they have anything to do with the other two genres - they are simply very watered down blackened death metal. How they could be 'surging' from the uh... rising popularity? of a dead genre which has lost its flavour, and which has nothing to do with that band, I will never know.

So if you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, just keep the trash to yourself and go back to listening to your 12 year old mallcore. Volbeat are pretty interesting, though.
