Anyway, best album of the year 2009 to me is MUCC's Kyutai.
Best artist overall is MUCC (album, multiple good singles, I think close to 20 good songs this year)
Best live performance I've been to is MUCC in Utrecht, Netherlands, they blew me away.
Best video goes to D'espairsRay with their Redeemer video. It is weird, crazy yet mysteriously awesome. Love the setting and all.

Other honorable mentions are D'ERLANGER with their self-titled new album, DEAD END's comeback after 15 years or so, and 8th Atomos by Seo Taiji, a Korean pop/rock/electronic/hiphop/rap/jack of all trades artist really. It's amazing what this guy does.
