Tutorial Outcome. I was looking up more ways to use c4ds into flow, and found this great tutorial. Anyway, here's my outcome.

the tutorial didnt show everything, so i had to fix some render and bg issues to get this result. it also had some mistakes and wrong links to renders D:

the diagonal pointing c4d behind the render is iffy.

also, the right c4d looks odd, but i don't know why..

the three boxes next to the name are ugly, as is the text itself.

Remove the text, crop off the right side, then fill in the left some more.

Fatal, i was working on the text some more. The boxes sorta make the feel a bit less empty.
Jassie, the flow of the render isn't in just one direction, the motion of his hands make a flow that goes sorta up.

with the text changed, http://i48.tinypic.com/2vd64gn.png Also, the right and left sides were supposed to properly fade to black, but i think the tutorial skipped 2-3 steps which resulted in my "winging" it.

It is showing him appearing out of something, sort of like an explosion. An the c4ds follow the flow of the render which if i posted here, you would see. meh w.e

yeh i kno its just really the contrast in colours and stuff they dont run in smoothly especially the bluish blackish bits around his arms i can see why people would like it i just dont sorry

see, those are like part of then render, and they sorta emit a type of feeling that something ripped opened and he popped out. Plus, the colours are supposed to be a bit "cold" and like focus mainly on the focal.

red is totally a hot colour m8 and to me it looks like someone ha tried to throw loads of sharp paint on him...

kakashi

The render had red flames on it. I had to acomodate them in the sig.

Edit: Different render used in this V3. http://i50.tinypic.com/2j2vk0g.png The lighting might need some work in this one though :P

i like it more but the sharp paint splash things look unnatural i suggest trying to blur them into the background its just theyre too bold

kakashi

i didnt use any paint splashes. They are called c4ds, the make the render "move". A c4d is basically a Cinema4D render that helps give more flow to the sig. As you can see, if i use just brushes for flow, it wouldnt work. And c4ds are sometimes meant to stand out. But as you can see, it blends in nicely.

well the smudging is a bit bad, the splatter paint marks aren't blended in, the focal is too big, and the text is meh. I suggest you try www.gfxvoid.com for some very nice smudge tuts.

yeh im trying another it went a bit wrong

hmm.. try to use renders that have some kind of movement in them. The you can smudge some of it into the direction of the movement. That's called flow.
Try some more tuts and try to follow every step and see what you end up with. Then try and use those techniques into your sigs.

the one i ws following was kinda hard to understand anyways heres my second

i think the majority of the tuts are for PS. Try searching for Gimp sigs cause i believe you have Gimp right. and use colours that go together. Try to use different layers and more blending options. I think I'm gonna make a tutorial just for this forum. Not you, but many other people just stab some text on a pic and call it a banner/signature. :/

yep gimp and ty thats gr8 advice only prob is ive dont that loads of times b4 XD

kakashi
01-09-2010, 09:44 PM
Yeah true. I used to have gimp, i was never good at it. So i started to use some dumb online editors, and gradually, over 3 years, moved to photoshop and now I've improved. Even some of my firts photoshop sigs were HORRIBLE!

lol btw do u do spriting e.g. recolours fusions etc?

kakashi
01-09-2010, 09:49 PM
Yes, I do. :) Though since they generally require more time, i barely do them except when I'm in the mood.

vyse

recolours!?!?!?!? i just did 4 in about 3 mins

kakashi

spriting. Reclours dont take long with the options in photoshop and the right tools.
I usually take my time finding the right parts.

here they are the reason i did it so quick was because i have invented my own technique called natural recolour
im doing it in gimp tried in photoshop doesnt work as well anyways fusions easy for me too tho i only do ones i think would be really good

kakashi
01-09-2010, 09:59 PM
basically, in photoshop, there are options to do it like that. But with sprites it generally takes longer finding the right parts and stuff. D:

vyse

meh im not too good at spriting from scratch but otherwise im good

kakashi
01-09-2010, 10:04 PM
I am ok at spriting, though i generally spend my time making sigs.
