Portal's Guide to Completing the Regi Tower Challenge

The Roster

1. Regirock: Any level. Moves are irrelevant. Same for the items.

2. Regice: Any level. Moves are irrelevant. Same for the items.

3. Registeel: Any level. Moves are irrelevant. Same for the items.

NOTE: The first three Pokémon MUST be set in you roster in this order.

4. Giratina: Level 2500+ is recommended, but very much so possible with lower level ones. Be sure to attach the item "Leftovers" (Dark Islands; attached to Spheal). The moves should be set as follows:

I. Swords Dance/Dragon Dance (up to you)
II. Shadow Force
III. Close Combat
IV. Ice Ball

5. -filler- This slot will not be used unless you deem it fit.

6. -filler- This slot will not be used unless you deem it fit.

The Walkthrough

Regirock

a. Let your Regirock faint. It has no use in the battle. Immediately switch to Giratina once it goes down.

b. Constantly use Swords Dance with Giratina until its HP falls below the 50% mark. After this, use ShadowForce until it faints.

Regice

a. Use ShadowForce to defeat it. It should go down in two hits.

Registeel

a. If you have a considerable amount of HP left, use Close Combat until it faints. Otherwise, use ShadowForce to regain HP and defeat it.

Salamence

a. If you're desperate for HP, use ShadowForce to take it down. Otherwise, use Ice Ball for a guaranteed one hit knockout.

Metagross

NOTE: Being faster than the Metagross (being the first to attack) is a great indicator that you'll win the battle.

a. Use ShadowForce until it faints.

ShinySceptile

a. If you have 25% HP left, use ShadowForce and hope that you aren't hit hard before you can pull it off. Otherwise, use Ice Ball for a one-hit knockout.

ShinyBlaziken

a. Use ShadowForce to knock it out.

ShinySwampert

a. Use ShadowForce to knock it out.

Slaking

a. Use CloseCombat to KO it. Do NOT use ShadowForce; it doesn't affect Slaking.

ShinyFlygon

a. Use IceBall to knock it out in one hit. ShadowForce if you need HP.

Articuno

a. ShadowForce under any and all circumstances.

Zapdos

a. Use Ice Ball on it.

b. If it survives, use ShadowForce to regain HP going into Moltres.

Moltres

a. ShadowForce under any and all circumstances.

Armaldo

a. ShadowForce. Nothing else.

Cradily

a. You should be cruising through this by now. You have ShadowForce or Ice Ball as an option.

Milotic

a. ShadowForce should knock it out in 2 hits.

Latias

a. ShadowForce. I've seen Latias' attack. :/

Latios

a. ShadowForce. Same goes for Latias here.

Kyogre

a. Use ShadowForce on it until it drops.

Groudon

a. IceBall warrants a quicker KO with less accuracy.

b. ShadowForce guarantees you beat it in 2-3 turns.

Rayquaza

a. IceBall it. And yes, I've never seen Rayquaza attack. IceBall OHKO's it on contact.

Q: Why didn't you use Thunderwave?

A: Icy Wind slows down Giratina to the point that Thunderwave will eventually become useless. There's also the chance that Thunderbolt will paralyze Giratina if it hits. I prefer taking down each Pokémon as quickly as possible to avoid any and all complications (speed reduction, status, etc.).

This is the way I completed the Regi Tower challenge the first time. I've had an 85% success rate on it. I know that there are other ways to do it. If you have any suggestions to make this guide better, feel free to post. Hope this was helpful.

@Waif - Thanks
@Gimp - Thanks, and feel free to tell me if I missed something.
@Striker X - If you're using a 2.5k set, this should be 100%. It's still very doable with one 2.5k Giratina.

i died at Moltres...
my 2x gira 2.5k died at slaking cuz it always used crunch...
Milotic
a. ShadowForce should knock it out in 2 hits.
i had to hit 4 times...
atias used Shadow Ball!
Latias's attack was super effective!
Latias's attack was a critical hit!
Giratina's stats changed!
Giratina has fainted!

im too noob for the towers...or unlucky a lot. :S

i tried 3 times without winning...

Is it just me or did the tower get harder? I think Shrimpy raised their Levels because their attacks deal a lot more damage now.

Okay, I got my Giratina back, so I was able to do some runs on the Tower to see what changes I noticed:

1. Zapdos, Moltres, Metagross, Slaking, Latias and Latios were faster than my Giratina.

This is the only difference I saw, and it could be because of the number of times Icy Wind it hit my Giratina.

I was still able to successfully win a Rayquaza with relative ease.

Works just fine.

Took three L1012 Giratinas in just for insurance, but the first didn't even get hurt that bad. Still had about 95% health left after smashing Ray at the end.

I'd always kicked myself for not winning more than one Ray when the Regi tower was brand new (was a goof way back then where the restrictions weren't implemented), and I've made up for that mistake and subsequent trading of it. I might win a few more, but I don't know yet.

I dunno what has changed, but all of a sudden, my Giratina set has become absolutely useless. Nothing survives, and can only get to Kyogre before the third Gira is KOed.

rly? strange im doing the same as ever, its probably bad luck, try to make sure the regirock doesnt have shadow ball or crunch, if it has any of those moves, restart, dont worry about icy wind, if u have Dragon dance, like i use, then u should get 7 off , then attack, k on flygon and zapdos, use shadow force, it does half damage, so u can recover HP.

btw everyone, i have 10 rays now from winning :P

I've adjusted my strategy, and now I'm getting much better results.

I went with Confuse Ray, Double Team, Shadow Force and Ice Ball, and Leftovers attached.

Against Regirock, I DT up to max, and then Shadow Force it out.

Then, I just fight everything else, except adding Confuse Ray to the start. Hitting itself speeds up the fights and lets me heal at the same time.

Because I don't have Close combat, I have to use Ice Ball against Slaking, but he usually doesn't do much damage.

This has let me win two in a row, and it looks very good.

Works perfectly fine. a 100% guide for me till now.
I just want to know if there is a limit to the stats raise since one time i did dragon dance for like 20~30 times and the dmg difference was not much.
Also that time groudon was faster than me.idk why maybe ice wind spams.
I would advice having the other two Giratina in your set with x speed. You can take out those last legends that way IF your boosted giratina faints.

Does this mean rayquazas will be rated crap now, yes. I did have fun though >)

This worked first time out of the gate for me. I lost a Gira early, but the other set up a major Ancient Power wall, and only a few of the opponents stood a chance. The only thing that sucked was when Regice decided Icy Wind was a good thing and spammed the hell out of it.

Much better than the 0-for-6 the original guide resulted in.
